GATHERING AND DEVELOPING ENTERPRISE DATABASE BEST PRACTICES
The Agilex Database Institute is committed to bringing together experts in several major enterprise database technologies to consolidate best practices for the benefit of Institute members and their clients.

As modern database management software becomes increasingly powerful, it becomes more complex as well. In order to maximize the value of these expensive technologies, the Database Institute is focused on developing and compiling the most advanced experties available. The Institute Fellows are industry leading experts in their field and their technical knowledge and real-world expertise have helped countless organizations realize the full potential of their database investments.
These fellows collaborate at regular Institute meetings, on the Institute's private online forums, and through Institute-sponsored research projects in the Chantilly, VA labs.

Through the publication of technical notes, reference architectures, white papers, demonstration systems, and an annual technical journal, Institute Fellows share their experience and research findings with fellow members and their clients.
BRINGING TOGETHER EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP

In order to maintain its technical objectivity, the Agilex Database Institute is not funded by any of the major database technology providers, but they are an invaluable source of technical expertise. The leadership and fellows of the Institute are, in many cases, former or current employees of Oracle, Microsoft and other database software companies. In this way, the Institute is assured to be basing its recommendations on the industry's foremost experts.
This experience begins with the Institute leadership. The Chairman of the Database Institute is Tim Hoechst who spent 19 years as a technology executive at Oracle Corporation. The Director of the Institute is Dominic Delmolino, a 10-year Oracle veteran and a founding member of Oracle’s Systems Performance Group.
